USB and IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.LINK) use different communication protocols. This is a passive cable and does not convert USB signals into FireWire signals. It will only work with equipment specifically designed to support this type of USB-to-IEEE 1394 cable connection.
It is not a universal USB-to-FireWire converter and may not work simply by connecting a standard FireWire device to a standard computer USB port.
